| Why I do have cellulite? |

Clinical studies and results are even convincing models and stars. We have believed many promises: we have rubbed, applied lotions and hoped for visible success in the battle against cellulite - and were disappointed over and over again. But now there’s a new method from Switzerland that promises lasting success. It’s all nature’s fault: 80% of all women suffer from dimpled skin Whether world-famous star, athlete or Mrs. Miller from next door – sooner or later almost every woman discovers unattractive dimples on the upper thighs, buttocks or arms. Two factors are to “blame” for this: The fatty tissue in women stores fat more easily and quickly than that of men, since it is designed to provide energy storage for pregnancy. In addition, the female connective tissue is constructed so that it can stretch during pregnancy. Different than in men, the collagen fibres in women, between which the fat cells are found, are aligned almost perpendicular to the skin. If the fat cells get larger, they push the skin between the collagen fibres upward, resulting in the appearance of the typical dimples of so-called orange peel skin. Hormone changes during menopause, lack of exercise, stress, smoking and poor nutrition aggravate the loss of skin elasticity, and with it, the additional development of cellulite. Fluke: Acoustic energy waves give visible results without side effects The so-called “Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy” was developed by the Swiss company Storz Medical AG for the treatment of kidney stones and for use in orthopaedics. For more than ten years, symptoms such as tennis elbow, heel spurs, calcific tendonitis in the shoulder or trigger points have been treated very successfully with this therapy. “A positive side effect of shockwave treatment is the lasting smoothness of the skin at the treatment site. Acoustic Wave Therapy for cosmetic applications was specially developed on the basis of previous observations and experiences, so that now gentle acoustic waves stimulate the body regions affected by cellulite and tighten connective tissue permanently – and completely without needles, injections or side effects,“ reports Manfred Schulz from Storz Medical, a long-standing expert in the area of Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy. On the pulse of time: Beautiful skin thanks to the most up-to-date treatment technology During treatment acoustic waves are applied to the affected body regions. This occurs without damage to the skin and almost painless. An ultrasonic gel is applied to the skin before treatment to prevent losses of energy during the acoustic wave transmission. Depending on the range of application, the treatment area is “scanned” horizontally and vertically with the applicator and treated with approximately 3200 - 4000 pulses. This ensures that the tissue is stimulated evenly. 105% more elasticity and tighter skin thanks to the multi-layered mode of action In extensive clinical studies the effect of Acoustic Wave Therapy was investigated and proven, to the delight of many women. The aim of the pilot study was to find out whether and how the AWT treatment mobilizes the metabolism activity in the subcutaneous fatty tissue which strengthens tissue structure, significantly improving both skin texture and structure while clearly and visibly reducing cellulite along with it. Based on this study, the application of acoustic waves has an effect essentially as follows: Microcirculation is stimulated in fat cells; disturbances in fat metabolism undergo considerable improvement. Fibroblasts and fat protrusions in the lower dermis are dissolved by the acoustic waves and dislodged from the upper layer of skin. As a result, the upper layer of skin becomes smoother in appearance. Simultaneously, the tissue is firmed and the elasticity of the skin is measurably improved. While other therapy attempts increase the elasticity of the skin by 15 to 25%, for example, AWT treatment achieves an increase of up to 74% immediately after therapy and up to 105% six months after the end of therapy. In addition, blood circulation as well as lymph flow is boosted by the AWT treatment, which tightens skin and achieves a comprehensive reduction of the treated body region In summary, the studies conclude that the Acoustic Wave Therapy has a positive effect on the revitalisation, elasticity and structure of the skin and connective tissue. It will feel like a new body in six to ten sessions Since the market launch in 2006, more than 100,000 women have already been treated successfully, first in the USA, Italy and Turkey. Even if according to the experience of experts, such as Dr. Gerhard Sattler of the Rosenpark Klinik in Darmstadt, six to ten sessions suffice for achieving long-term success. |
